In this role I worked on two projects that evolved into published peer-reviewed papers. The first concerned modelling PhD success for postgraduate decision support. The findings of this work have contributed to organisational changes with Queensland University of Technology regarding the management and custodianship of Postgraduate students. The second project was an examination of conservation investment decisions by government and NGO representatives, demonstrating that the different decision rules employed by each group often produce the same result.

As a research assistant at the Social Science Research Centre at University of Queensland I worked on a range of projects providing research support to senior academics. These projects included a Campbell Collaboration study into police ligitimacy, as well as a statistical exploration of Southeast Asian terrorism for the Australian Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
This role was also my first foray into software development management as a member of a team developing the Counter Terrorism intelligent Library for mining newspaper articles online.

In my first academic role as a research assistant, I was part of a team assembling contact details of PhD graduates for a study exploring the impact of postgraduate funding programs. Upon completion of this work, I moved to a role coding surveys for the Living in Queensland study funded by the Queensland Government.
